Things That Still Emit Light When the Power's Off During a Rainstorm

It was a dark and stormy night.
And all through the house, not an electronic device was stirring,
except for:
i) the alarm panel (Trouble! There is no power!)
ii) my 2001 Apple Titanium PowerBook (iTunes server, busted and duct-taped hinge, display cable thus under duress – but kind of a new take on the iTunes visualizer)
iii) the single(remaining)-of-four charge status light on my ZAGG iPhone battery (NUTS! That’s not going to last long!)

Fortunately, the power has since been restored!

That’s the station where you associate your proximity card with a duress alarm, which (theoretically) allows the system to track you through the hospital and identify where you are overhead if you press the duress alarm. Which would be helpful, if, you know, the alarms actually worked.
